Yard waste collection resumes next week, on April 4.

Yard waste collection resumes next week, on April 4.

Mount Prospect residents can begin putting out yard waste for collection beginning on April 4.

The yard waste can be put out for pickup between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 am. Containers put out after 6:30 a.m. on collection day will not be picked up.

The containers of yard waste, whether 32-gallon biodegradable kraft paper bags or 32-gallon rigid containers, must have the village yard waste sticker attached. The $2.50 stickers are available at the Village Hall, Public Works, Jewel Food Stores, Mariano's and ACE Hardware. Rigid containers must also have a green village yard waste decal attached. The free yard waste decals are available at the same locations as the stickers.

Brush collection will also resume on April 4. Bundles of brush and tree branches must weigh less than 50 pounds and secured with cloth or twine. The branches cannot be larger than three-and-a-half inches in diameter and five feet long.

The village will also pick up logs that weigh less than 50 pounds and are less than five feet long -- simply stack the logs next to the yard waste containers. Brush bundles and logs are picked up at no charge on regular collection days; stickers are not required.
