VolunteerPalooza is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 23.

The Elgin Volunteer Coordinator Network (EVCN) is hosting the free volunteer fair at the Centre of Elgin Heritage Ballroom, 100 Symphony Way.

April is National Volunteer Month. Residents of all ages are invited to attend the fair and learn about the many opportunities to volunteer in Elgin. Organizations ranging from social service agencies to civic groups to local non-profits will have members available to share the vast array of volunteer opportunities to attendees. In addition to the more than 40 agencies and organizations, the event will also feature raffle prizes, live entertainment, face painting, crafts and food trucks.

Organizations interested in participating in the event should register as soon as possible, as space is limited. Registration is free. The six-foot tables are equipped with two chairs and an electrical outlet. The tables are first come, first served. Setup begins at 10:30 a.m. on the 23rd. Register online at http://gailborden.info/library-info/1684-volunteerpalooza.

The City of Elgin also maintains a volunteer page on its website for the convenience of residents. Click here to find opportunities to give back to the community.
