Metratracks

The crossing will be closed from March 28 through March 31.

The crossing will be closed from March 28 through March 31.

The crossing at Glenview Road in the Village of Glenview will be closed for track repairs next week, from 9 a.m. on Monday, March 28, through the end of Thursday, March 31.

The crossing is scheduled to reopen Friday morning.

Metra has requested urgent repairs to the rail crossing, which will include track replacement. Residents and commuters should anticipate heavier traffic than usual due to the detour around the rail crossing. Allow extra time to travel through the detour. Glenview Road will be closed between Harlem Avenue and Pine Street. When driving west on Glenview, the detour will take drivers left onto Waukegan Road, then right onto Dewes Street. A right on Harlem Avenue will take drivers back to Glenview Road, where they can turn left and continue westbound. The map of the detour can be viewed here

Metra will have a representative on site while the repairs are in progress. Paul Sorensen may be reached at 312-287-2636. In addition, the village's management analyst, Laura Lake, will be available at 847-904-4476 or llake@glenview.il.us to answer questions and concerns about the repairs.
