The Prospect Heights Police Pension Board will hold a special meeting at 4 p.m. Monday to conduct a disability hearing for former police officer Joseph Whowell.

The Whowell matter had been discussed at the board's Jan 12 meeting. At that time, the city had motioned to dismiss the disability application.

Whowell, a 16-year veteran of the Prospect Heights police force, received the Outstanding Community Policing Award in 2013 for his work with the Summer Youth Outreach. He organized field trips and programs for the youth outreach program.
