A conditional use permit for an automated car wash was considered by the Elgin Planning and Zoning Commission at its Dec. 7 meeting.
The Elgin Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing to discuss a conditional use permit for an automated car wash in the AB Area Business District on Dec. 7.
The car wash would be located at 297 S. McLean Blvd.
The applicants requesting a permit to construct a new automated car wash were Ryan Triphahn of Corporate Design & Development Group LLC; Dan Gunsteen of MKD Enterprises; and owner Mary Ann Bollman. At the public hearing, the petitioner presented additional information regarding the car wash. This was in addition to the information in the staff report and recommendations.
The commission called for public comment. There were no objectors present.
After the hearing, the commission decided to table the petition until the Jan. 4 meeting. This decision gave staff time to review the new information and documentation provided at the public hearing. It also allowed staff and the applicant an opportunity to work on concerns outlined in the report.
After the public hearing, the commission heard a summary of pending applications. Following the update, the meeting was adjourned.
