The Village of Mount Prospect recently shared its Strategic Plan for 2020.
By looking forward, the village plan continues to fulfill the mission of improving quality of life and advancing its potential with innovative, flexible leadership and service delivery.
The strategic plan focuses on six primary areas: governance, cultural climate, infrastructure, business, commercial business districts and development. A well-led, fiscally healthy government allows the village to provide quality municipal services to its residents. It also helps ensure a strong infrastructure of transportation, public health and safety, utilities and green solutions that will continue to enhance community life in the future.
Community life is enriched by the diverse cultures that make up Mount Prospect. The strategic plan commits the village to inclusion and accessibility for all. The village seeks to engage its residents in a variety of cultural events and activities, including broadcasting its heritage, citizen accomplishments and quality of life.
The strategic plan also builds opportunities for business owners and entrepreneurs through polices that attract and support businesses. Included among the goals is to facilitate traffic patterns to encourage shoppers and commuters to stop and shop in the village.
Development is a crucial part of the overall strategic plan, expanding retail, restaurant and other commercial development. Adding housing opportunities also helps residents stay in the village throughout their lifetime.
With the Strategic Plan for 2020, the village continues to work toward maintaining its heritage while building a contemporary atmosphere that exemplifies its slogan, "Where friendliness is a way of life."
