Elgin Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee to review 2016 projects at tonight's meeting.
The Elgin Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee will hear updates on current projects, review the successes of 2015 and discuss activities and projects for the upcoming year at 6 p.m. today, Jan. 5.
The committee meetings are held at The Centre in the West Conference Room, 100 Symphony Way.
Before hearing updates and reviewing projects, the committee will ask for comments from the public on items not on the agenda. Following public comments, the committee will be updated on current status and progress on the South St. extension, East Chicago St. rehabilitation and Bikeway Route 4 projects. The South St. project should be completed in 2016, while the East Chicago St. and Bikeway projects are still in the design and planning stages.
The 2015 review will include highlights and successes of the projects laid before the committee in the past year. Following the year in review, the committee will move forward to new projects and activities proposed for 2016.
The next meeting of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee will be held at 6 p.m. on Feb. 2. The public is invited to attend.
