The Streamwood, Illinois board of trustees met recently and discussed utility increases and other items.
The Village of Streamwood board of trustees reviewed the budget workshop discussions and the anticipated increases in water costs over the next several years, which are anticipated at 5 percent per year. The board heard the first reading of the ordinance that increases the water and sewer charges by 5 percent per year from 2016 to 2019. In addition to the water and sewer charges, the utility bill will reflect the City of Chicago surcharge as a separate line item.
The board approved semi-monthly expenditures of $472,622.46, setback and parking variations for Fiesta Market on Irving Park Road, a lease agreement for 1204 S. Park Ave. with Verizon Wireless, and contracts with Tyler Technologies Inc. and Baecore Group Inc. The waiver that allows live entertainment, such as mariachi performers and karaoke, at Los Fernandez Taqueria was also approved.
A special use permit for the sale of alcoholic beverages at Supermercado Fiesta Mexicana Inc. was presented for first reading and posting.
The board heard announcements for the Cultures of our Community event on Nov. 7 and the annual Veterans Day ceremony on Nov. 11. In addition, new appointments and reappointments to the Village commissions were voted upon and approved.
