The Wilmette, Illinois Appearance Review Commission met recently to review the remodel of the Jaguar dealership at 721 Green Bay Rd.
Jordan Aron of Imperial Motors returned to the commission with a revised plan for remodeling the Jaguar dealership. The preliminary review raised concerns regarding the design and materials. Jaguar has recently completed a nationwide redesign of their dealership designs and is unwilling to make changes in the design to accommodate the Village's appearance requirements. The main material used on the facade will be Alucobond, an aluminum composite material (ACM). The remaining material on the facade will be corrugated metal paneling.
An extensive discussion followed the review of the conceptual drawings, expressing the commission's concerns with Jaguar's proposed design and the Village Center Design standards. Aron said he will take the commission's comments and suggestions back to Jaguar.
In addition to the Jaguar dealership remodel discussion, the commission approved Appearance Review Certificates for Next Realty's signage at 60-126 Skokie Blvd., 1500 Sheridan Road HOA for six roof top units and 422-444 ½ Ridge Rd. for a landscape planter and fence. The commission continued the Northshore Meats and IL Center for Digestive & Liver Health cases to the Dec. 7 meeting.
