Elgin Foreign Fire Insurance Tax Board convened to discuss funds and bills

The Elgin, Illinois Foreign Fire Insurance Tax Board met in July to discuss elections, funding and bills.

After calling the meeting to order, the board heard and approved the minutes of the previous meeting.

The Treasurer reported on the monies spend on education. The expenses for education and fitness were discussed. The board decided to discuss the current limits and adjust them if necessary at the September board meeting.

The board reviewed the ongoing bills, which included ones for the accountant, insurance/bond bill, Kane Co. death benefit, legal, office supplies, station funds and TV repair/replacement. After review, the board voted unanimously to approve funding the ongoing bills.

The board announced the upcoming elections. Three seats held by Brian Domaracki, Dave Gartrell and Dave Olkowski are up for election. Domaracki is to contact the elections committee.

At the September meeting, Secretary Randy Lehnhardt is to provide an accounting for monies spent on special teams. This item was carried over from the April meeting. The board approved the rowing machine for Station No. 4.

The board discussed the Fire Explorers funding breakdown. There was $15,000 dedicated to the Fire Explorers, with the balance of that funding to be reaffirmed every January until the funds are expended.

After announcing the next meeting on Sept. 29, the meeting was adjourned.
