2016 BlackLivesMatter Program Planning Committee to meet in Elgin

The Elgin, Illinois Planning Committee for the 2016 BlackLivesMatter Program will meet on Dec. 17 at 164 Division St. starting at 6 p.m. 

The committee will hold a brainstorming session as it seeks to create a vision for the 2016 BlackLivesMatter program and events. Among its goals are to determine its audience, what it wants to achieve, and the overall message to the community.

After the brainstorming session, the committee will hear several speakers and discuss the format and framework of the 2016 BlackLivesMatter program.

The committee will also hear updates on possible venues for events, upcoming February events, and the video research project.

After hearing other business, the committee will go over its next steps in planning and coordinating the BlackLivesMatter program for 2016. The next meeting date will be announced and then the meeting will be adjourned.
