Special use permits on agenda for Wilmette Zoning Board of Appeals meeting

Dentist

The Zoning Board of Appeals of Wilmette, Illinois will meet in the second floor Council Chambers at the Village Hall, 1200 Wilmette Ave., on Dec. 16 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The board will consider a special use permit, Case No. 2015-Z-57, at 414 Linden Ave. for a preschool/child daycare center. The applicant is Allison McMahon. The space is located on a property that contains several one- and two-story commercial buildings. It was previously occupied by Artisanal Wilmette. Child daycare centers located in the Neighborhood Retail 1 zoning district are considered special use and require special use approval.

The board will also consider Case No. 2015-Z-58 regarding a special use permit for a medical/dental clinic located at 411 Linden Ave. The applicant is Dr. Kenneth Milin, DDS. Linden True Value previously occupied the one-story building. The proposed dentist office will use approximately one-half of the building. The space is 29.7-by-100 feet, or approximately 2,757 square feet. Because it is larger than 2,000 square feet, it is considered a "large" medical/dental clinic and requires special use approval.

After discussion, the board may or may not take action on these cases.

Following the discussion on the special use permits, the board will review and approve the Nov. 4 meeting minutes.

The public is invited to attend and comment at Zoning Board of Appeals meetings.
