Prospect Heights announces branch and limb pickup.
Prospect Heights Public Works Department will pick up storm-damaged branches and limbs from Nov. 30 to Dec. 4.
The recent snow storm caused severe damage to trees, breaking many branches. From Friday night through Saturday, the storm dropped 10 inches of snow onto the Village. Approximately 100 trees were damaged by the heavy, wet snow, and at least 12 had to be removed. Due to the numerous downed branches and limbs, the Public Works Department will pick up the damaged branches from Monday, Nov. 30, through Friday, Dec. 4. Residents must move the branches to the curb for collection.
As the storm approached, Public Works worked overtime to complete the leaf pickup program and applied anti-icing solution to the streets. During the storm, Public Works employees applied 50 tons of salt to the roads. The six Prospect Heights Public Works employees worked through the storm to ensure that the streets were plowed and salted by 2 a.m. Sunday.
