Park Ridge City Council met and generated approvals

The Park Ridge, Illinois City Council held its November meeting, approving several items and reviewing the budget audit.

The meeting was called to order, followed by roll call and the pledge of allegiance. The October 19 regular city council meeting minutes and October 26 committee of the whole minutes were approved.

Items approved on the Consent Agenda were the first reading of the ordinance modification regarding emergency alarm applications, the final reading approving a no left turn sign, the FY 2016 warrants for $1.27 million for the period ending October 31, the taxi dispatch office sublease and a budget amendment for Public Safety Employees Benefits Act health insurance premiums.

The city officials reported, with Chairman Daniel Knight providing the Mayor's report and announcing that State Rep. Marty Moylan (D-55) will be attending the next city council meeting. Al Rapp will be the city's alternate to attend the O'Hare Noise Compatibility Commission. There was also a report of the modifications at Mariano's Store regarding bar service. Under the City Manager's report, Finance Director Joe Gilmore reviewed the FY 2015 audit. Questions and answers followed.

On non-agenda items, Lorena Fisher spoke to the council regarding her zoning variance application. Her applications were granted a continuance to Nov. 12.

During the reports of boards, commissions and committees, the Zoning Board of Appeals approved the first readings for variances at 130 S. Prospect Ave. and at 520 N. Northwest Hwy. The next Historic Preservation Commission meeting had been scheduled for November 4. In the Public Safety Committee report, Fire Chief Jeff Sorensen announced that the city is now using its two new ambulances.

Under new business, Ald. John  Moran asked for the date of the next meeting of the Fire Pension Board and requested its addition to the city calendar. Ald. Marc Mazzuca requested that related documents be posted online. In addition, Ald. Knight asked for clarification on the videotaped meetings in the Council Chambers. After new business was completed, the meeting was adjourned.
