Northbrook Architectural Control Commission enacts approvals

Villageofnorthbrooklogo

The Village of Northbrook, Illinois Architectural Control Commission (ACC) met last month and approved four items.

After the meeting was called to order and roll call taken, the September meeting minutes were reviewed and approved.

Public comment was invited for items not on the agenda. There were no comments.

The commission was briefed by Senior Planner Michaela Kohlstedt regarding the Agave Anejo wall signs at 1361 Shermer Rd. The signs comply with zoning requirements. There was a discussion regarding the shape of the corner sign and if the signs change color, as flashing signs are prohibited per the zoning code. The signage was approved unanimously.

The Fuddruckers wall signs at 776 Skokie were also approved with a design modification. Assistant Director David Schoon described the proposed design and the commission determined that the sign's projection from the building must be adjusted to no more than nine inches. If the sign design cannot accommodate the change, then the matter will return to the ACC.

Schoon also reviewed the changes to the Life Time Fitness mixed use development at 1000 Skokie. The architect, Jim Conley, went over the changes to the proposed apartment building and answered the commission's questions. The development with the changes was approved unanimously.

The three new single family home elevations at 860 Cedar Ln., 1454 Coral Pkwy. and 2354 Wood Dr. were approved as presented.

Comments from each member will continue to be noted under new business. There was no old business, and the meeting was adjourned.
