Park Ridge's Community Health Commission invites residents to apply to fill two expired seats and three vacant seats.
The Community Health Commission's mission is to educate parents and children about drug and alcohol abuse and promote a drug-free community. It also seeks to educate residents on health-related and environmental issues.
The commission normally has 11 members. The available seats include a position for a substance-abuse professional or counselor. Commission meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of every month at City Hall.
Residents interested in serving a two-year term on the commission are encouraged to visit the City of Park Ridge website at www.parkridge.us. After selecting the "Our Government" tab, look at the left column and select Boards, Commissions and Committees. The link to the Boards and Commissions application form is on the right side of the page. Interested parties can also find printed copies of the application in the lobby at City Hall.
Applications and attached resumes, if available, are due by Nov. 13. Send applications to Deputy Clerk Cheryl Peterson at cpeterso@parkridge.us or by fax to 847-318-5300. Interviews will be held on Nov. 23 with the Mayor's Advisory Board, which will make recommendations to acting Mayor Marty Maloney.
