FOIA Request Sent to City of Park Ridge Regarding Unpaid Parking Violations on October 28, 2024

A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the City of Park Ridge on October 28, 2024, by North Cook News. The request pertains to all currently unpaid parking violations within the city.

In our quest for transparency and accountability in local government affairs, we at North Cook News have asked for a comprehensive list of all parking violations that remain unpaid. The details requested include the name of the offender, their address, the amount due, violation date, and total due.

As a media organization dedicated to providing accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, access to public records is crucial for us. This information enables us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.

Given our role in disseminating information to the public, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140.
