SCHAUMBURG – On April 30, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) was recognized with the Appreciation Award by the Chicago chapter of the Peaceful Unification Advisory Council (PUAC) at its special lecture featuring guest speaker Dong Hyeon Seok, Secretary General of the PUAC in Korea. The award was given to Congressman Krishnamoorthi in recognition of his dedicated service toward the pursuit of peace and was presented at PUAC’s Special Lecture event on Sunday evening.
“I am grateful to the Peaceful Unification Advisory Council’s Chicago chapter for presenting me with this Appreciation Award,” said Congressman Krishnamoorthi. “Peace on the Korean peninsula is essential to ensuring a peaceful and stable region and creating a democratic, market-oriented society and economy that benefits all Korean people. I look forward to working with PUAC in the future to achieve the ultimate goal of a democratic and peaceful Korean peninsula.”
The Peaceful Unification Advisory Council (PUAC) is a constitutional institution established in accordance with Article 92 of the Constitution of the Republic of Korea. The presidential consultative body was created to establish and implement policies on democratic and peaceful unification on a bipartisan and pan-national level.
