April 4, 2023 Consolidated ElectionClick here to find your polling place. Polls are open until 7:00 p.m. Same day registration (grace period registration) is available at the polls. For Kane County Voting dates, deadlines, and details, click here.For Cook County Voting dates, deadlines, and details click here.Early VotingFor the April 4, 2023 Consolidated Election, early voting in Kane County will take place from March 10 to April 3 and from March 20 to April 3 in Cook County. Early voting allows voters to cast a full ballot before the observed election day. Although voters can still go to their polling place on Election Day, early voting is intended to make voting easier for everyone. This cuts down on lines at the polling place on election day as well as allowing voters to vote when it fits their schedule.Early voting is conducted at assigned locations throughout Cook County and Kane County. You may go to any one of these assigned locations to vote early. Early voting is NOT conducted at your usual polling place. Polling places will only be open for voting on the observed Election Day.Bring photo IDState law requires early voters to display valid photo identification to an election official before receiving a ballot to vote early. Valid forms of ID include: a current driver’s license, state-issued ID card, university/college ID or another government-issued ID with a photograph.Are you registered to vote?Elgin residents who are unsure if they are properly registered to vote may check the following websites to verify their information:Cook County ResidentsKane County ResidentsRequest Mail-In Ballot Kane County residents, click here. Naturalized CitizensIt is beneficial to bring citizenship document since the date and place of naturalization is required on the application. It is also the only way to vote if you are not registered or if your voter registration is not up to date. However, guidelines limit when and where grace period registrants can vote.
