Elgin releases two mobile applications for residents to interact with City and Police Department

The new City of Elgin app replaces the previous "Elgin 311 app" and is a mobile version of the City’s new online portal (portal.cityofelgin.org).
New app features:

  • "Elgin Today," which gives users the most up-to-date information about city services, events and more.
  • Ability to create an account with an email address or use an existing Google or Facebook account.
  • Submit requests with photos
  • Track requests
  • Enable notifications
  • Register water (utility) accounts, view and pay bills with credit/debit card, or sign up for autopay.
In addition to the city app, the Elgin Police Department’s app gives users an in-depth way to engage with the Police Department. Users can file a police report for certain offenses, provide anonymous tips, schedule vacation checks and much more.
