Burd Scores 27 in Home Debut in 83-70 Loss to Indiana Northwest
The Judson University Men's Basketball Team hosted its first game of 2023 on Saturday as the Eagles took on Indiana South Bend. Judson was competitive throughout the entirety of the contest, but a late second-half push by the Redhawks put the game away.
Isiah Burd was the leading scorer as he scored 27 points and made 10 of 18 shots from the field. Burd was 3-5 from downtown and made all four of his free throws. In addition, he recorded a double-double with 11 rebounds and he added an assist and a steal to his stellar performance. Jack Keller scored 12 points, including making a pair of three-pointers. He added three rebounds, an assist, hereand a steal. Sam Stewart scored seven points and added 13 rebounds, two blocks, and a steal. Leonard Wilson had 10 points off the bench, including two rebounds and an assist.
"I thought our guys fought hard. We were shorthanded since three of our starters were out with injuries and didn't play. We just need to get healthy and continue to share the basketball offensively," said Head Coach Bruce Fields. "I was really proud of Sam Stewart; his grandmother just passed away and despite his loss, he truly elevated us on the floor today."
