Early Voting
For the November 8, 2022 General Election, early voting in Kane County will take place from September 29 to November 7 and from October 24 to November 7 in Cook County. Early voting allows voters to cast a full ballot before the observed election day. Although voters can still go to their polling place on Election Day, early voting is intended to make voting easier for everyone. This cuts down on lines at the polling place on election day as well as allowing voters to vote when it fits their schedule.Early voting is conducted at assigned locations throughout Cook County and Kane County. You may go to any one of these assigned locations to vote early. Early voting is NOT conducted at your usual polling place. Polling places will only be open for voting on the observed Election Day.
Bring photo ID
State law requires early voters to display valid photo identification to an election official before receiving a ballot to vote early. Valid forms of ID include: a current driver’s license, state-issued ID card, university/college ID or another government-issued ID with a photograph.
