Elgin Inviting Community to Collaborate on 2023 Strategic Plan

The city of Elgin is inviting residents, community groups and local businesses to help shape the city’s next strategic plan by participating in one of four Community Input Meetings. The new strategic plan will launch in 2023, following the conclusion of the five-year strategic plan that began in 2018.

The Elgin City Council and city staff use the strategic plan to identify and prioritize initiatives and strategies to move the community towards its intended vision. In addition to the results from the recent community survey, these meetings provide another venue to gather input on the issues that should receive heightened attention by the city over the next five years.

Stakeholders who are unable to attend a meeting in-person can participate through one of the virtual meeting options. Spanish interpretation will be available at all in-person and virtual meetings.

The city's strategic planning consultant, Raftelis, will be facilitating the community input sessions. Participants will be prompted to reflect on the strategic planning framework and answer specific questions about the vision and key focus areas.
