$367,798 in Municipal Home Rule Sales Tax collected in January for Streamwood

Streamwood taxpayers paid $367,798 in Municipal Home Rule Sales Tax in January, according to Illinois tax records.

This is an increase over the month before when $240,353 was collected.

Taxpayers in Streamwood have paid $2.9 million in Municipal Home Rule Sales Tax in the last 12 months.

The Municipal Home Rule Sales Tax is collected for municipal governments' use.

Illinois is the highest taxed state in the US.

A 2021 study from Wallet Hub found Illinois taxes are 38.95 percent higher than the national average.
