Ribbon Cutting to Celebrate Opening of Alive Center for Teens in Hanover Park
On Thursday, April 21st, the Alive Center for Teens is celebrating the opening of its new center in Hanover Park at the Greenbrook Tanglewood Community Center with a ribbon cutting ceremony held on location at 12:00 pm. Alive Hanover Park is bringing free teen drop-in hours for 6th-12th graders every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30-5:30 pm. The Drop-in hours will include art experiences, games, life skills, movies, STEM activities, other interactive activities and more. This is Alive’s third location, others including Naperville and Aurora, Illinois.
Rod Craig, Hanover Park Mayor, adds, “We are pleased to welcome the Alive Center to the Village of Hanover Park. Hanover Park believes all children are capable of success, no exceptions! Having a teen center in the Greenbrook Tanglewood neighborhood will help to foster success in our children by giving them a safe, supportive environment where they can learn and grow and become future leaders of our community. I look forward to working with Alive Center staff, DuPage Habitat for Humanity, and Spring Wood Middle School to get our youth engaged in this wonderful opportunity that is available to them in our community.”
Mayor Rodney Craig’s Kids at Hope Coalition will be sponsoring their annual Community Health & Resource Fair on Saturday April 23, 2022. The Community Health & Resource Fair will be held at the Hanover Park Park District gymnasium located at 1919 Walnut Avenue in Hanover Park from 10:00a.m. until 1:00p.m. The belief of the Kids at Hope Coalition is that all children are capable of success, no exceptions!
The Health & Resource Fair is designed to provide information and resources to youth and families in the Village of Hanover Park. Agencies and organizations dedicated to providing safe, fun activities for youth in our community will be exhibiting at the Health & Resource Fair. There will be free giveaways, health screenings, games and activities for children, and demonstrations by various clubs and organizations. There will be dance and musical performances by the U-46 Mariachi, Faubourg Theatre, Literacy Through the Arts, and the Hanover Park Park District. The Lion’s Club will offer free vision tests. In the Park District parking lot, the Police and Fire Departments will do child safety seat installations and inspections, and there will be an emergency vehicle display. Prizes will be raffled off – win a family pool pass to Seafari Springs, free tickets to a Schaumburg Boomers baseball game, and much more! This will be a FREE, fun, and informative event for all!
