Analysis: Prospect Heights administrators rank 114th in state for average pay

Administrators in Prospect Heights School District 23 earn an average of $127,324 per year, ranking 114th out of 864 districts in Illinois, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2020 average is 10.6 percent higher than in 2016 and 3.4 percent higher than in 2011. District administrators make 14.4 percent more than the state average of $111,293.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Prospect Heights School District in Cook County enrolled 1479 students in 2019-2020. There is an average of 148 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 171 to 1.
