Podgorski for Cook County Commissioner has issued the following press release:

CHICAGO, IL – This week Matt Podgorski demonstrated overwhelming support in his run for Cook County Commissioner by filing his nominating petitions with nearly 1,000 signatures. Podgorski’s filing shows broad support from 9th district voters for his pledge to bring back safe neighborhoods, lower taxes, and fight the rising cost of living in Cook County.

“Local families deserve to live in a healthy community where they can afford to raise their families and not fear for their safety,” said Podgorski. “I am running to lower taxes, bring down the cost of daily life, and end Kim Foxx’s dangerous soft-on-crime policies. I am grateful for the outpouring of support to provide financial security and physical safety for our families.”

Podgorski is a common-sense conservative. His no-nonsense, results-driven approach has earned him support from voters in every corner of the district and made him the race’s clear frontrunner.

Matt Podgorski is a Republican frontline fighter and the son of a retired Chicago Police Officer. Residing in Chicago’s 41st Ward, he has a proven track record of taking on progressive Democrats by recruiting and supporting dozens of Republican candidates—including electing Police Sergeant Ammie Kessem as the 41st Ward Republican Committeeman.

Matt is also the founder of the Northwest Side GOP Club. Under his leadership, it has quickly become one of the most active and respected Republican organizations in the state.

Podgorski attended Holy Cross High School and graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from Northeastern Illinois University. He went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Economics and Public Policy from Pepperdine University in 2004.  In addition to a successful private sector career, Podgorski served as an Adjunct Professor of Political Science at NEIU from 2004-2014.

Matt has two children who attend Catholic schools in Park Ridge and Chicago’s Northwest Side.
