Cook County Sheriff tweeted the following:

"Sheriff Dart warns public of a recent phone scam in which the caller claimed to be an employee of the Cook County Sheriffs Office & called from a number disguised to appear as though it was from our office. Citizens who receive these calls can contact the CCSP at (847) 635-1188."
