Village of Streamwood Village Board met Feb. 3.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

CALL TO ORDER 

President Roth called the workshop to order at 8:12 p.m.

All those answering “present” were physically present at the meeting. 

Also present: Village Manager Sharon Caddigan; Community Development Director John  Peterson, and Assistant Community Development Director Jeff Harris; Finance Director Josh  Peacock; Fire Chief Chris Clark; IT Director Joe Ritter; Police Chief Daryl Syre; Public Works  Director Matt Mann, and Assistant Public Works Director Scott Nielsen; Village Attorney Adam  R. Durkin. 

The Village Board is meeting for a Workshop with staff for the following: Review of 2022 Goals and Objectives 

Fire Chief Clark reviewed the renovations at Fire Station #33 and stated it is close to  completion. He discussed the planned project for Fire Station #32 which includes an addition  on the west side of the building for “dirty equipment” and decontamination area. 

Police Chief Daryl Syre stated the Police Department building is scheduled for a “refresh and  update” in various areas, including updating operational needs. The parking area immediately  adjacent to the sally port will be increased from 21 to 31/32 spaces for employee only parking  and will be secured with a gated entryway and fenced. The memorial wall inside the station  will be expanded to include space for retired officers’ badges. Also, a training simulator or  virtual reality system is planned as well.

Community Development Director John Peterson and Assistant Community Development  Director Jeff Harris reviewed the current entry monument signage and potential new entry  signs as well as locations for new electronic reader board signs. They also discussed allowing  alcohol sales at gas stations with convenience stores, allowing packaged alcohol “to go” in  conjunction with food sales at restaurants, and regulation and allowing food truck operations  within the Village. 

PUBLIC COMMENT 

Trustee Harper moved to adjourn. Trustee Cecille seconded the motion. A voice vote approved  the adjournment. The Village Board adjourned the Workshop at 9:37 p.m.
