Report: Evanston School District spent $23,529 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Evanston Township High School District 202 was up 7.2 percent from five years ago, according to the North Cook News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Cook County school district spent $21,939 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $23,529 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 3,322 to 3,615 students over the same period.

Evanston's spending in 2019-20 was 62.4 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
