Eagles Conclude Penultimate Contest with 28-22 Loss to Missouri Baptist

Judson University issued the following announcement on Nov. 6

The Judson University Football Team played a conference game on Saturday in Missouri as the Eagles fell to Missouri Baptist 28-22. 

The game remained scoreless after a quarter of play. The Eagles then put on an offensive show in the second quarter, scoring a total of 22 points. Aubrey Williams found Jaquavious Wise from a yard out (missed conversion) to cap a 15-play, 65-yard drive that took 7:54 of game time. Missouri Baptist immediately answered with a field goal to trim the deficit in half. Missouri Baptist then scored the following touchdown to give the home team a three-point lead. Judson answered with two touchdown drives of sub-five minutes to take the lead into the half. Wise scored from 14 yards out (from Williams), followed by Grant Alexander catching a 26-yard pass from Williams to give Judson a 22-10 lead going into the half. Missouri Baptist scored the game's final 18 points in the second half, causing Judson to fall by six points.  

Williams finished 26-37 with 293 passing yards, three touchdowns, and a pick. Brandon Mackey led the rushing game with 24 total yards on seven carries. Vickers had 131 receiving yards on seven receptions. Alexander had a team-high eight receptions for 73 yards, including the touchdown catch. Dakari Ferguson had 48 yards receiving on two catches. Defensively, Josh Mason led the team with nine tackles (4 solo-5 assisted) including a sack. EJ Glover had seven tackles (5-2), while Franklin Sayers (2-3) and Jontrell Mitchell (2-3) each had five tackles in the contest. Clifton Jimerson had the team's other sack, while Eian Petry (1.5) and Chance Cregeen (0.5) contributed with tackles for a loss. 

Judson (3-7) returns to action next Saturday with the season finale against Trinity International at noon.
