What: The 6th Annual Seed Processing and Volunteer Appreciation Day
This is our favorite day of the year because we get to express how much you mean to us!
This Sunday is our 6th annual Seed Processing Event and Volunteer Appreciation potluck luncheon. We will begin the morning by processing all the seed we have collected so far this year from 9:00 am - 11:00 am followed by the luncheon and awards ceremony from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.
After wrapping up the seed processing, we will begin the Volunteer Appreciation Potluck Luncheon followed by the presentation of the prestigious PHNRC Golden Loppers award! The award is presented annually to the volunteer that the Commissioners feels has contributed over and beyond the call of duty. The Golden Loppers remain in the City of Prospect Heights Council Chambers until next year.
This year, we are moving the event from November to October so we can all be together outside. The Commission will provide a Kielbasa roast and attendees are asked to bring a complementary dish for at least 10 people. We are asking that attendees please RSVP to Commissioner Jill Moskal at jill.moskal@att.net with the number of people that will be coming with you so that we can makes sure we have enough provisions. You do not need to attend the seed processing in order to attend the Volunteer Appreciation lunch. Family members are welcome, they just need to be in the count.
The weather is calling for a perfect fall day of a sunny and 54° so dress warmly! After the festivities, we will be out celebrating on the newly installed boardwalks that you all have worked so hard on!. Parking is on Marion/Maple on the Slough side of the road facing Willow Road.Lost? call 847.910.5257.
