Prospect Heights Natural Resources Commission issued the following announcement on Sept. 15

When:     Wednesday, September 15th, 2021.  5:00 pm - 7:00 pm.

Where:    Remnant Prairie in Wheeling (See map below)

What:      Seed collection at the Prairie!

Congratulations to Wendy Dewar for having the correct seed weight from last week!

Tonight we will be at the remnant prairie collecting multiple species from our remnant source. If you have not been to the remnant prairie yet, you are in for a real treat and a guaranteed great sunset. With the temperature expected to be a crisp 56° and the heavy vegetation, long pants and sleeves are essential.

Seed collection is a communal event and the best way to catch up with your fellow volunteers and meet new ones! If you have never volunteered and always wanted to, this is the perfect way to start. We will supply all tools, instructions, supervision, bug spray and water. Parking is on Abbot Drive facing west, just past the curb. We will meet at 5:00 and head out as a group. If you do not have a PHNRC bumper magnet, please ask for one so you do not get towed.

Please visit our website at How to volunteer, to learn more about the Volunteer program. New to the program? Download our volunteer waiver and bring it with you here.

Information about specific work days is sent out to volunteers by email. To receive the work day notices and our Resources Journal, please subscribe here.

Those under 18 need to have written parental permission or supervision. Hazardous weather cancels any event and our Work Day email notices will alert you to a cancellation.
