I-21-001 Information Item – CMAP Bike Plan Update
The Villages of Streamwood and Bartlett along with the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) held a kick-off event for its plan to make walking and bicycling more safe, comfortable, and convenient. Over 20 people participated in this virtual meeting and had great insight and ideas that will help us as we plan. We encourage people to visit the project website at engage.cmap.illinois.gov/bartlett-streamwood to provide additional information.
We are also very pleased to report that CMAP has recommended Streamwood for funding in its long-term (2022-2026) programs. The Village has been recommended for roughly $5 million to help realize the pedestrian and bicycle bridge over Route 59, improve the intersection of Routes 59/19, and reduce barriers to alternative transportation options.
