1. Palatine Fire and Police Commission - Special Meeting - March 3, 2021 - Accepted
Minutes from March 3, 2021 were presented to the Commissioners. Commissioner Jim Hader motioned to approve the minutes and Commissioner Dan Nallen seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

2. Recommendation for Permanent Appointment
Approval of permanent appointments were presented to the Commissioners.
a. Consider a Motion to Approve Permanent Appointment for Sergeant Campbell
Commissioner Dan Nallen motioned to approve permanent appointment. Commissioner William Rossi seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
b. Consider a Motion to Approve Permanent Appointment for Officer DeBellis
Commissioner Dan Nallen motioned to approve permanent appointment. Commissioner Jim Hader seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

3. 2021 Police Officer Testing
a. Discussion of National Testing Network for 2021 On-Line Police Written Test
A lengthy discussion ensued regarding the benefits and concerns of moving to an online testing vendor. The Commissioners asked several questions to Christine Davidson about logistical issues and features of the NTN product. Issues discussed involved testing security and cheating, testing locations, testing timeframe options and test taker frequency.
b. Consider a Motion to Approve Staff Authorization to Use NTN On-Line Services for 2021 Police Officer Written Exam
Commissioner Dan Nallen made the following motion which was seconded by Commissioner Bob Fallardeau:
"Approve staff to contract with National Testing Network to conduct the 2021 Police Officer application and written test process with the following stipulations:
1. There will only be a two-month testing window
2. Candidates who fail the test for Palatine PD will be unable to re-test during the 2021 testing process."
Motion passed unanimously.
c. Finalize 2021 Test Schedule
The testing dates for the online written test will be determined by staff in the next few weeks. The physical ability test is scheduled for Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the Palatine Police Department. Interviews will commence the week of August 16-20 at the Palatine Police Department.
