Evanston-Skokie Community Consolidated School District 65 issued the following announcement on Apr 15.

This week, District 65 is also celebrating Earth Week 2021! For the third year running, Genie Albina, former D65 teacher, along with the D65 Green Teams , created amazing bilingual, asynchronous lessons for PreK-8th grade students. A special shoutout to Washington Elementary educator, Ms. Albina, for her support with this initiative!

  • PreK-2nd grade lessons focus on fun nature facts and building an appreciation for the natural world.
  • 3rd-8th graders will learn about climate activists and issues around environmental justice. Activists include: Autumn Peltier; Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr, Mayor of Freetown; Jerome Foster II; Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson; and our own Etown Sunrise, ETHS Sustainability Committee, and ETHS Climate Action Committee. Students are encouraged to take what they've learned and engage in environmental activism themselves.
Families are able to view the lessons, available in English and Spanish, via their student's Seesaw or Google Classroom or through the following the link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1nM5VpM0e9TO5jmqbxf54hOVCrdpttoen?usp=sharing
