Glencoe Park District issued the following announcement on Jan 18.
On January 18, the Governor announced that the state of Illinois will be moving into Tier 2 mitigations effective immediately. This means many of our classes can resume in-person meetings. Glencoe Park District program managers will be contacting program participants by the end of the day with those plans. The state's guidelines, as it relates to general Park District operations, are below:
Indoor/Outdoor recreational activities
Preschool Enrichment Programs, Youth Enrichments Programs, Adult Art/Ceramics Programs
- Indoor recreation programs with less than 10 participants can take place
- Participants/guests must wear face coverings at all times
Outdoor sports classes, outdoor fitness classes, Skating/Hockey classes
- Outdoor sports and recreation programs can take place with groups smaller than 10.
- Multiple groups are allowed if separated by impermeable barriers and within overall facility capacity limits
Children’s Circle, Kids Club Enrichment Camp
- Children's Circle will re-open on January 19 to in-person students. Child care facilities will continue to operate subject to DCFS guidelines.
- If District 35 goes fully remote, Kids Club will offer a full-day camp.
Early Learning Center
- Early Learning Center will re-open on January 19 to in-person students. Preschool will continue to follow the extensive guidance released by IDPH and ISBE. If District 35 goes fully remote, ELC will offer a virtual preschool.
Glencoe Fitness
- Glencoe Fitness will continue to operate at 25% capacity (5 people per time slot)
- Face coverings must be worn at all times in fitness centers, including while engaged in individual exercise regardless of the person or machine spacing
- Reservations to use Glencoe Fitness are required (no walk-ins allowed)
- Fitness classes may operate with less than 10 participants
- Face masks are required at all times
Public Skate, Open Hockey, ice rentals
- Rink visitors will not have access to the inside of Watts Center. Externally heated restrooms are available for use by patrons. There will also be heat lamps located near the rinks to help keep guests warm.
- Outdoor activities allowed at 25% capacity or less. This includes public skate and open hockey at Watts. Multiple groups are allowed if separated by impermeable barriers and within overall facility capacity limits.
- Reservations required for each guest for outdoor activities. This includes public skate and open hockey at Watts.
- Outdoor group activities are limited to 10 persons or less. This includes skating/hockey classes and private rentals.
- Participants/guests must wear face coverings at all times
- Face masks and physical distancing required.
