City of Des Plaines issued the following announcement on Jan 19.
The City of Des Plaines is excited to announce that Lakeshore Recycling Systems (LRS) will become the City’s new waste and recycling hauler, starting on March 1, 2021. Residents will continue to have the same scheduled service day and continue to pay the same amount.
What You Need to Know:
- You will receive a new LRS 95-gallon garbage cart and a 65-gallon recycling cart the last week of February (unless you requested a different size through LRS).
- Your Republic carts will be removed the last week of February. Please remember to leave them on your parkway after your last service with Republic.
- LRS will bill directly for these services on a quarterly basis beginning in April 2021 (instead of the City’s bi-monthly utility bill).
