City of Des Plaines issued the following announcement on Nov. 20.
As of November 20, 2020 the State of IL will be implementing mitigation requirements to combat the surge of COVID-19 across Illinois. A full list of the requirements is listed here.
City Hall is currently open at this time. However, due to the Coronavirus, we encourage members of the public to postpone visits to City Hall unless it is absolutely necessary.
Planning for emergency situations is a practice that Des Plaines considers essential to its operations and the health of our employees and community-at-large. City-related updates can be found at desplaines.org/cityupdates, or on the City’s Facebook page at facebook.com/cityofdesplaines/. Residents and businesses can also sign up to receive important news announcements via email by subscribing to our services at desplaines.org/mycity/.
The following websites are key to receiving accurate information: Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). Both agencies stress the importance of everyday prevention measures like frequent hand washing and staying home when sick. Updates to this information will be shared once available.
