LAKE PARK COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT 108: Board of Education Considers 2020-21 School Reopening Recommendations

Webp hs 06

Lake Park Community High School District 108 recently issued the following announcement.

During a Special Meeting of the Board of Education on Monday, July 13, Lake Park High School presented Phase 4 Reopening Recommendations for the 2020-21 school year.

First and foremost, the District will adhere to the guidance from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). We will meet the guidance from Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) and IDPH that “In-person instruction is strongly encouraged” by implementing a schedule where approximately 50% of students will attend school on alternating days for a full day of instruction. On the alternating days when students are not on campus, they will participate in E-Learning activities equivalent to the 5 hour requirement.

On Monday, July 27 a framework for the return to school will be shared with families and staff. This framework will include the bell schedule, calendar (A/B days), an overview of the safety and health protocols (including symptom screening for staff, students and visitors), and plans for textbook/device distribution.

View slides from last night’s discussion for additional details about the working committees, important return to school considerations, and next steps.

We are proud of the shared commitment from the administration, Board of Education, and the Lake Park Education Association to make the health and safety of students and staff a top priority as we finalize reopening plans for this school year.
