Analysis: Evanston pays $7.59 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Evanston Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 88.4 percent of the $9,443,453 the Evanston Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $7.59 for every $1 from pension members, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Evanston contributed $8,344,947 to the fund, which saw a $262,661 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $1,098,506, or 11.6 percent, in 2018.
