Evanston-Skokie Community Consolidated School District 65 recently issued the following announcement.
On Monday, January 20, join students from 11 schools across Evanston and Skokie for Y.O.U.'s 15th Annual Diverse Communities United (DCU), a celebration of peace, diversity, unity, leadership, and service. In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., this year's theme is "I Am My Ancestors' Wildest Dreams." The youth-led event will feature student-led performances followed by a reception. Attend the “Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Celebration and Evanston Unity" on Sunday, January 19, at the newly renovated Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center. This community celebration promises to be inspiring and entertaining, as it will honor Dr. King's legacy through musical performances and speeches.
