Village of Buffalo Grove BG Days Committee met July 9.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

The meeting was called to order at 7:02.

The minutes of the last meeting were discussed. Jackie made a motion to accept the minutes. Rodney seconded the motion. The motion was carried.

Chairman’s Report: Paulette Greenberg/Eric Gordon Paulette was not present. She emailed her report.

Eric had no report.

Police: Michelle Kondrat/Robert Broussard

Michelle was not present.

Bobby could not attend and emailed his “no report” in.

Parade: Rodney Odelson/Lee Orlov/Ken Lazar

Rodney stated that he presently has 46 entries for the parade. Rodney stated that a week from tomorrow is the deadline for entries.

Rodney stated that he needs help Friday night at 5:00 to put flyers in the mailboxes of those on the staging streets, Sunday morning at 7:30 to place signs along the parade route, and Sunday during the parade as parade marshals. See him if you can help.

Mobile Com: Paul Zucher

Paul was not present and emailed his no report.

Fun and Food: Rick Kahen/Debbie Verson Debbie had no report.

Fire Department: Joe Welter

Joe was not present but gave his “no report” to Paulette.

Park District: Ryan Risinger

Ryan was unable to attend but emailed his no report to Jane.

Ryan also reported that he has a conflict with the Tuesday meetings and will not be able to attend. If you have any questions or concerns, he requests that you contact him.

Public Works: Dave Haisma/Mike Reynolds

Mike was not present.

Mike reports that they have added a bus stop at the Rohrman Properties on Dundee Rd. They also moved the Lake Cook Rd. stop from the Fed Ex building to the Village Hall. Both of these stops will be on one route.

Alan stated that it was the committee that requested a bus stop on the Cook County side.

Sponsorship: Mike Reynolds

Mike was not present but emailed his report.

Mike has 17 commitments for sponsorship, with 11 paid. He has 4 outstanding pledges and 3 in-kind donations. Mike reported that they are working on 8 to 10 other sponsor opportunities.

Food Tent: Sarah Lee/JV Springman

Sarah could not attend but emailed her report.

Sarah continues to get verbal agreements and is waiting on letters of intent.

Not For Profit: Mike Reynolds

Mike was not present but emailed in his report.

Mike reported the commitments are due on July 15. He has 15 commitments and is

waiting on one more. He reports that a meeting will be scheduled for some time after the 15th.

Beer Tent: Brad Schencker,

Brad stated that they are working with Miller, again, as provider for the beer and Miller is bringing in some of their craft brewing from the area. The Chamber is preselling beer tickets on the website, which is cheaper to buy in advance, saving 17%.

Business Fair: Brad Schencker,

Brad stated they continue to sell booths. As of now they have 20. Normally they have a total of 35. Brad stated that they will get there.

Set Up/Take Down: Marc Spunt

Marc was not present.

Mike was not present but emailed the following report in as response to a question last meeting.

Mike reported that the Rotary will not be using beans for bingo. They have moved to a one-time use card that gets colored with a blotter or a marker.

The Rotary will have plenty of volunteers on hand to help break down bingo and set up for the festival. They would like a copy of the table layout once it is finalized.

They will have it that night.

Arts Fair: Jackie Beegun/Sharon Borstein

Sharon has sent out over 200 invitations for the event. She has received 4 responses with checks so far.

Not for Profit Booth Management: Arti Sinha

Mike was not present but emailed in his report.

Mike reports that he has 3 commitments so far. This includes the Lake County State’s Attorney; Stand Strong Coalition; and the American Brain Tumor Association. Jane said that she will send an application to Kara O’Malley at St. Mary’s School

Kids Craft Tent: Jane Primack/Carol Irvin Jane had no report.

Grilling Challenge: Ed Bjes

Ed was not present.

Eric said that he has a few entries so far. They will be coming in faster, closer to the festival.

Entertainment: Karen Danenberg/Marlene Kozak

Karen was not present but emailed in her report.

Karen reports that the entertainment is set. She just ordered the bounce houses for Saturday and Sunday and got them for half price.

Technical Production: Doug Primack/Adam Moodhe Doug has no report.

Marketing/Publicity: Alan Danenberg

Alan stated that the website up to date and he posted on Facebook that on the website. The Facebook post was read by 1200 in 2 hours. He will continue to work on the page to add logos as there is space. Alan announced that Ricki Carle is interested in joining the committee and working on the Marketing subcommittee.

Clicks and Shutters: Marian Rodriguez/Randy Kittell Marian had no report.

Car Show: Cody and Diane Bartlett

Diane was unable to attend. She emailed her report.

They have the flyers completed and have already started to pass them out. She asked if

Alan and/or Mark can create a Facebook event page for the car show using the flyer. And

they always need volunteers on Monday. If anyone has any questions they can email Diane.

Information Booth/Ice Man: Marc Spunt Marc was not present.

Carnival: Paulette Greenberg

Paulette was not present and did not email a report.

Village Liaison: Mike Reynolds

Mike could not be present.

Trustee Liaison: Andy Stein/Eric Smith Andy could not attend..

Eric S had no report.

Howard introduced a friend of his, Arni Brown, who will be joining the committee.

Rodney made a motion to adjourn. Alan seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 7:21.
