The data shows that the five released offenders living in the Skokie zip code were men. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age was 45. The youngest parolee was a 29-year-old man convicted of a sex crime in 2018, and the oldest was a 68-year-old man convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons in 2017.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Noel Borrero. He was convicted of a property crime in 2014, when he was 44 years old. He is now 49.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
