Q4 2018 Recap: Parolees in Wheeling convicted of drug crimes

There were two offenders convicted of drug crimes released on parole in Wheeling during the fourth quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the North Cook News.

The data shows that both of the released offenders in Wheeling were men. The younger parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced in 2018. The other was a 33-year-old man sentenced in 2017.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Bernard Jazrawi. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2017 when he was 31 years old. He is now 33.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the 50 cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders in Q4 2018 who were convicted of drug crimes.
