City of Des Plaines recently issued the following announcement.
The Des Plaines Self Help Closet & Food Pantry can help with food assistance for local Federal government employees living in Des Plaines (or Rosemont with children in Des Plaines schools) and affected by the government shutdown.
You may receive food assistance once a month for as long as the shut down continues. All you need to do is bring your employee ID, proof of Des Plaines residency, and children's birth certificates to our facility located at 600 E. Algonquin Rd. in Des Plaines. Our doors are open to clients on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and on Tuesdays from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Questions?
