Park Ridge Park District issued the following announcement on Dec. 20.
The Park Ridge Park District has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). The award is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. Its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by the Park District and its management. This is the 36th consecutive year the Park District has received the award.
The award of Financial Reporting Achievement has been awarded to Sandra DeAngelus, Superintendent of Finance at the Park Ridge Park District, as being primarily responsible for preparing the award-winning Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR.) However, DeAngelus stated, “Everyone on the Finance team contributes to achieving this award. This honor is shared with my staff and the District as a whole.”
The CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 19,000 government officials and finance professionals with headquarters in Chicago, IL.
