Morton Grove Park District issued the following announcement on Sept. 19.
Three seats on the five-member Morton Grove Park District Board of Commissioners will be filled at the April 2, 2019 consolidated election. There are 2 six-year terms and 1 two-year term. An individual interested in running for office must be a registered voter and a Morton Grove Park District resident for at least one year prior to the election. Park Board positions are unpaid. Candidate materials are available and may be picked up at the Park District Administration building at 6834 Dempster Street, Morton Grove. Park District hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Nominating petitions will be available and may be circulated beginning September 18, 2018. An estimated minimum of 64 registered voters’ signatures is required in order to be placed on the ballot. The filing period for the April election will be 9:00 a.m. Monday, December 10, 2018 through 5:00 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2018 at the Park District office.
