Palatine State House candidate Maggie Trevor received another $88,334 from Illinois House Speaker and Democrat Party Chief Michael Madigan (D-Chicago) between Aug. 15 and Sept. 6, state filings show.
The Madigan funding was disclosed in reports filed with the Illinois State Board of Elections (ISBE) by Citizens for Maggie Trevor, the campaign committee that supports Trevor’s race against Republican Tom Morrison in the 54th district.
The district covers all or part of Barrington, Inverness, Hoffman Estates, Palatine, Schaumburg, Arlington Heights and Rolling Meadows.
Madigan’s contributions to Trevor came from the campaign funds he controls, including his own committee, Friends of Michael J. Madigan, the Illinois Democratic Party and the Democratic County Chairman’s Association of Illinois. In all, Madigan has contributed $222,283 to the candidate’s campaign.
From Aug. 15 to Sept. 6, Madigan spent $2.67 million backing campaigns for 31 candidates. He's spent more than $100,000 on 12 candidates and more than $40,000 on 18.
