Community Consolidated School District 59 issued the following announcement on Aug. 31.
Turning the calendar to September puts a stamp on the summer months. There will still be ample time to be outside in warm weather, but students at Forest View Elementary took advantage of the last day of August.
Staff members from the Sunrise Lake Outdoor Education Center paid a visit to treat students to a day of activities and team-building exercises.
Counselors worked with students grade-by-grade as they competed and cooperated in games such as relays and various forms of tag.
These events are crafted to help with collaboration, communication, teamwork, and directional skills.
The Sunrise Lake Outdoor Education Center is an affiliate of the Northwest Suburban Special Education Organization which focuses on aiding and improving student achievement.
Enjoy photos of the event as Forest View students got an early start on a fun holiday weekend.
